Our Executives

Dr. Badewa T. Adejugbe-Williams, Ed.D., ET/P

Dr. Adejugbe-Williams is a Specialized Academic Instructor, an Educational Therapist/Professional (ET/P) and a Multicultural Educational Specialist. She is the Chief Executive of Ladama Consultancy LLC (USA and Nigeria), and the Founder of the Royal School of Educational Therapy Foundation, Nigeria.

She earned her Doctor in Education degree from Capella University, a Master’s degree in Special Education (Educational Therapy) and an Educational Specialist credential from California State University, Northridge. She earned another Master’s degree in Education (Multicultural) and a Multiple Subjects Teaching Credential from California State University, Dominguez Hills, USA. Dr. Adejugbe-Williams is a member of the Association of Educational Therapist (AET), Council for Exceptional Children and Division of International Special Education & Services (CEC/DISES), International Learning Disabilities Association (ILDA), Learning Disabilities of America (LDA), and International Dyslexia Foundation (IDF) amongst others.

She is the co-founder of the Association of Female Agripreneurs, the Chair of the Nigeria Diaspora Summit Initiative and the Chair/Coordinator of the Nigeria Diaspora Investment Summit in Nigeria. She is also the Co-Chair of the African Chamber of Digital Commerce (ACOFDC) Summit and the Emergent African Forum in the United States. Dr. Adejugbe-Williams has presented academic papers on film, special education and multicultural educational practices, and has served under numerous committees for the presidency and several non-profit ventures.

Daisy Jonathan QBA, BCCS, ACAS.

Daisy is an Educator with strong skills in setting up educational systems and curriculum planning, assessment and evaluation, a Qualified Applied Behavior Analyst (QBA),  a Board-Certified Cognitive Specialist (BCCS), an Advanced Certified Autism Specialist (ACAS) and a UK Certified SPELL Trainer.

She has worked as a Training and Educational Consultant for international and Nigerian organisations in the field of Education, Community mobilisation, needs assessment and Resource Mapping. She consults extensively on the use of Participatory learning Approaches (PLA) and Strategic Behaviour Change Communications approaches among young and Most at-Risk persons

Daisy has trained community leaders, school leaders, in and out-of-school youths and participated in the design, implementation and monitoring of programs targeted at skills acquisition and behavior reduction programs amongst Most at-risk Communities in the development sector. She also trains teachers and therapists and supports schools and religious institutions to plan and implement inclusive and Special Education Needs (SEN) curricula and systems. She provides assessments, education, and behaviour plans using tried, tested, and evidence-based methodologies and tools.

Daisy believes in the creation of a supportive and enabling environment for children and individuals to be able to reach their innate potential, and to this end, she regularly engages in advocacy and sensitization programs as well as engagement of stakeholders in the health and education sectors and via various media programs. She is a regular speaker in several international programs and conferences.

She is the convener and originator of Autism and Special Needs Support Africa (ASNSA),a platform for stakeholders in the autism and Special Needs sector to get information, skills, and support, as well as the Warrior Mums Support Group– a social media support Group with a membership of about six hundred mothers of Special Needs Children drawn from over fifteen countries. She sits on several local and international boards.

Mrs. Jonathan is the Proprietress of Pleasant Places Schools in Lekki and Port Harcourt, Nigeria, and Pleasant Places Therapy Centre and provides training, supervision, and mentorship for parents, carers, teachers, therapists, and other professionals under the auspices of Pleasant Places Training Academy.

She serves as Founder and Executive Director of Pleasant Places Childcare Foundation, a non-governmental organization targeted at meeting the needs of children with social, educational, and developmental needs, especially among poor and vulnerable populations.

She holds three Master’s degrees, an MBA in Human Resource Management (University of Wales), an MSc Ed. in Special Education (Walden University) and an MSc in Applied Behaviour Analysis- Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (University of Kent).

She is married with three children.

Professor Foluso Ebun Afolabi LESI FNAMed, FAMedS

Professor Lesi graduated MBBS from the College of Medicine, University of Lagos and obtained the Fellowship of the Faculty of Paediatrics of the West African College of Physicians FWACP (Paed.). 

He also has a Masters (MSc) in Mother and Child Health with distinction in 1997 from the University College London and the Fellowship of the prestigious Royal College of Physicians of London (FRCP).  He is a Professor of Paediatrics at the College of Medicine University of Lagos and a Consultant Paediatrician at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital. 

His area of interest is Paediatric Neurology and Neurodevelopmental problems. Professor Lesi is a member of a number of professional associations including the Paediatric Association of Nigeria.  He is also an international member of the American Academy of Paediatrics and the International Society for Autism Research.  He is a Foundation Fellow of the Nigerian Academy of Medicine and the Academy of Medicine Specialties.

Eziafakaku Nwokolo PhD, BCBA, QBA

Dr Eziafakaku Nwokolo is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), a Qualified Behavior Analyst (QBA) and an Autism Specialist.

She holds a PhD in Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities from the University of Kent, where her research focused on “Screening for Autism and Intellectual Disabilities Amongst the Nigerian Adolescent Population”. Additionally, she has an MSc in Applied Behavior Analysis – Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities from the same institution.

She is the Founder and CEO of Shades of Life Care Limited (SOL), a centre that provides assessment, diagnosis intervention, and intervention strategies to families with children that have behavioural challenges, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), as well as intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). The facility also offers training and supervision services to Behaviour Analysts and Technicians in Nigeria. Through her work with SOL, she is helping improve access to ASD and IDD support in Nigeria. She also builds and equips an army of Behaviour Analysts in Nigeria, who uphold this mission and strengthen it further.

Also, Eziafakaku is the founder of Shades of Life Foundation (SOLF), an NGO that was created to give indigent families the financial support needed to provide their children with autism and other neurodivergent needs, access to the best therapy and resources.

She is also the visionary and sponsor behind #Ride4Autism, a campaign that aims to create a culture of awareness and acceptance of Autism in Nigeria. This laudable initiative is conducted in partnership with various cycling clubs and SOLF.

She has given presentations of her work at different conferences, including The Association of Behavior Analysis International (ABAI) 44th International Conference in San Francisco, the ABAI 15th Annual Autism Conference, the 5th European International Association for the Scientific Study of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IASSIDD) Conference in Athens, the 6th IASSIDD Conference in Amsterdam, at the inaugural International School for Disability Studies (ISDS) conference for Intellectual Disability (ID) in Abuja, Nigeria and the first-ever Pan African Congress on Autism (PACA) conference in Nairobi, Kenya.

In addition, she currently sits as a member of the International Standards Committee of the Qualified Applied Behavior Analysis (QABA) Credentialing Board and is a member of the Association for Behavior Analysis International (ABAI).

Upon graduating, her career began in the Oil & Gas sector, working with Chevron Nigeria Limited. Having risen through the ranks over the course of 20+ years, with prestigious positions, an enviable salary and other benefits, she decided to leave the company, even though she had not reached retirement age and still had great prospects within the company. Part of her decision to retire early stemmed from her desire to improve access to Autism resources in Nigeria, due to her personal experience of having a daughter with Autism, as well as a network of parents who were experiencing the same issue. Rather than complaining about the problem, she decided to be a part of the solution.

She is also happily married with three children.

Ben Arikpo

Ben Arikpo is a radical social entrepreneur, an Applied Psychologist, a Master Brain Trainer, Director of Operations and Quality Controller of the Brain Training and Development Centres in Nigeria. Ben is the Master Franchiser of the BrainRx Inc. from the United States of America. Ben is a co-founder of the Dyslexia Foundation Nigeria, the foremost social enterprise in Nigeria focused on creating awareness and remediation for dyslexia.

He is also the Owner/Manager of Akada Konsults, an Organization Development and Human Resources (OD/HR) Consultancy firm with a well-established reputation for high-quality consultancy in Africa and is Nigeria’s #1 Organization Development Consultancy Services Provider (The World Bank 2004).

Using his training, experience and skills in entrepreneurship development and working with his wife of over 35 years, he turned their challenge of their son having a learning challenge into social enterprises by obtaining the franchise from LearningRx Inc, USA for BrainRx Nigeria in 2013 and founding the Dyslexia Foundation Nigeria which recently celebrated its 8th Anniversary.

Ben Arikpo is a Sociologist/Applied Psychologist, Social Worker and Special Needs Practitioner with over 35 years of experience in the field. Ben is passionate about Special Needs Education (SNE), including creating awareness for dyslexia in Nigeria because of his conviction that if he hadn’t found out what was wrong with his son, he might have given up. Ben advocates for proper training and certification of SNE practitioners to end the quackery in the ecosystem.

Professor Edwin Ehi Eseigbe

Professor of Paediatrics, College of Health Sciences, Benue State University, Makurdi and Consultant Paediatric Neurologist and Neurodevelopmental Paediatrician at Benue State University Teaching Hospital, Makurdi.

He is the immediate past Chief Medical Director of Bingham University Teaching Hospital in Jos where he established the Centre for Child and Adolescent Health and Development. Also, he is a visiting Professor of Paediatrics to the Bingham University. His research work over the past two decades has focused on paediatric neurology and neurodevelopmental disorders in childhood as well as adolescent health and notifiable diseases.

He is a strong advocate of the functional integration of child development and neurology services into Primary Health Care. He is a graduate of the University of Benin and a Fellow of the West African College of Physicians (WACP) as well as the American Academy of Cerebral Palsy and Developmental Medicine (AACPDM).

Professor Eseigbe is the Current President of the Child Neurology Society of Nigeria (CNSN).

Professor Isabella Elizabeth Okagbue FNIALS

Professor Isabella Okagbue, is an accomplished lawyer and academic with several published books and articles to her credit. She is a member of the Nigerian Bar

Isabella had a distinguished academic career for many years with the Nigerian Institute of Advanced Legal Studies where she rose from the position of Graduate Assistant to become a professor of law and the Director of Research. While at the Institute her scholarship focused on criminal law and criminal justice, civil liberties, women’s rights and juvenile justice.  She worked for a short period with the United Nations in Somalia with UNOSOM II where she was responsible for the prisons, street children and juvenile justice programmes run by the United Nations in Somalia. 

After leaving the Institute she switched gears and engaged in corporate law work.  She joined the United Bank for Africa Plc and over the course of her employment held various positions including General Counsel, Company Secretary and Chief Compliance Officer. She subsequently joined Metis Capital Partners Ltd as an Executive Director where she ran the day to day operations of the company and advised on projects with international blue chip companies in telecommunications and real estate among others.  She has since retired from Metis Capital. In the course of her career she has served on several other boards/councils including the board of Emerging Markets Telecommunications Ltd (Etisalat Nigeria), the Council of the Lagos State Multi-Door Courthouse and the Council of the Nigerian Institute of Social and Economic Research. She is currently a non-executive director with FSDH Capital Ltd and FSDH Merchant Bank Ltd

She is a member of several professional organizations and serves on the boards of a number of NGOs including the Negotiation and Conflict Management Group.  She is the Chair of the Selection Sub-Committee of the Nigerian National Committee for the United World Colleges which is responsible for the selection and nomination of Nigerian candidates for both scholarships and fee paying slots at the different Colleges around the world.

Isabella has an LLB degree from the University of Nigeria Nsukka, an LLM degree from the University of Lagos and a second LLM degree from Harvard Law School.  She was awarded the prestigious Fulbright African Senior Research Scholar Award and spent a further period at Harvard Law School as a Fulbright Fellow.  Her other honours and awards include a Butterworths Fellowship from the London Institute of Advanced Legal Studies and Best Student Prize Faculty of Law University of Nigeria.  She is also an Honorary Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Advanced Legal Studies.

KACHI OKEZIE, ESQ LL B BL MBA (Wales) FILD ANIPR

 

Kachi Okezie is a lawyer, management consultant and diversity trainer certified as a professional trainer by the UK Chartered Institute of Environmental Health. A barrister and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria, he is currently the Principal Partner at Abuja-based law firm Pembrooke Solicitors. Kachi has a Bachelor’s degree in law, LL.B, from the University of Nigeria (1986) and a BL from the Nigerian Law School (1987).

Kachi was called to the Nigerian Bar in October 1987 and fulfilled his national service (NYSC) in the Ministry of Justice, Calabar, Nigeria. After two years in private law practice in Lagos, Kachi moved to the United Kingdom in 1989 where he gained a post-graduate Diploma in Journalism from the London School of Journalism (1990) and later, a Masters’ in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Wales (1999), having worked as a Housing Officer in the London Borough of Brent.

Over the past two decades, through his firm CTP International, Kachi has trained and consulted for various institutions including the EQUAL Project of the European Union, the Welsh Government and several organisations in the Middle East and Nigeria. From 2000-2001, Kachi personally trained over a thousand legislators and staff of the Welsh Government on the Equality and Diversity laws and policies of the newly devolved administration and subsequently managed a variety of intervention projects for the European Union under its Equality and Lifelong Learning Programme and the European Social Fund (ESF) Objectives 2 and 3 streams. In Nigeria, clients who have benefitted from his work include the Senate Committee on the Review of the Constitution, the Central Bank of Nigeria, Securities and Exchange Commission, Nigeria Deposit Insurance Commission and Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, where he undertook a year-long capacity building training for the entire board and management. He has organised and moderated several high profile events for the Nigerian Governors’ Wives Forum through the office of the First Lady of Nigeria.

Kachi has served on various committees including the Nigeria Diaspora Investment Trust Fund Ad-Hoc Committee and the planning committee of the Nigeria Diaspora Investment Summit (NDIS). He also served as Secretary to the Federal Government’s Ad-hoc Committee on the Establishment of the Nigeria Diaspora Investment Trust Fund and is currently a consultant to the Senate Committee on the Review of the 1999 Constitution.

Kachi is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association (Section on Business Law Committee) and the European Lifelong Learning Partnership. He is also a Fellow of the Institute of Leadership Development.

Jamila Rumah-Bawa LLB, BL

Jamila Rumah -Bawa holds an LLB and BL from Ahmadu Bello University and Nigerian Law school, respectively. She has worked in the public service for over 12 years with a focus on the Financial Services Industry.

She has a tenage son living with autism.

Jamila has bagged a wealth of experience in caring for children and adolescents with autism and is passionate about finding solutions and strategies that can help children and adults living with autism reach their full potential.
